Pinchos & Tapas is a quick-service Spanish tapas take-away bar serving real quality Spanish flavours in bite-sized to-go’s. Gifting the busy Melbournians a new way to indulge in an authentic food and dining experience, Pinchos & Tapas reimagines and elevates the traditional tapas bar into a fresh, fun, and flavour-full take-away alternative.

BrandWorks was engaged in formulating the brand strategy, brand identity, and interior design, instrumental in positioning this new Quick-service Restaurant (QSR) brand in the market. Amidst a QSR market that is densely populated with Asian-themed fast-casual dining concepts, Pinchos stands out as a lively, delightful, and flavour-intense Spanish alternative. This tapas and pintxos take-away bar introduces a touch of Southern European elegance to Melbourne.

 
 

Approach

The brand and interior design team at BrandWorks drew inspiration from the culinary culture and maritime tastes spanning from San Sebastián to La Boqueria in Barcelona. The vibrant earthen hues of the architecture, the enduring charm of century-old structures, and the local appreciation for bustling laneways and markets have all played a role in their design process. As bold, sincere, and vibrant as the cuisine itself, the design, identity, and interiors encapsulate the vivacious spirit of the Spanish people and their gastronomic heritage.

Incorporating the timeless design elements in typography, patterns, and color schemes, the brand identity captures the dynamic energy, spirit, and urban gastronomic culture prevalent in the bars and marketplaces of Spain's culinary landscape.

With a fully integrated approach that melds culture, brand identity, and interior aesthetics for a plug-and-play Quick-service Restaurant (QSR) concept honouring Spain's culinary traditions, the team has cultivated an exceptional brand experience. This endorses the finest elements of Spanish food culture, delivering a tempting proposition to Melbourne that combines food, drinks, and a vibrant enthusiasm for life. The result is an engaging brand journey that immerses customers in the richness of Spanish gastronomy, weaving an irresistible charm of flavours and experiences. The interior complements rich terracotta hues with muted calming blues, a nod to the brand palette. An impressive 2.5 metre diameter printed tile mural designed in collaboration between both the graphics and interior teams features a cubist flamenco dancer, honouring heritage in a contemporary illustrative execution. Working in a suspended gantry, flavour and produce take the front seat with the framework being adorned with garlic, chilli and produce.
